About Meets

Swimming meets — also known as swim meets — are competitions where swimmers race against one another in different events such as Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.
There are several types of swim meets designed to suit swimmers at every level:
-
Development Meets: Great for beginners, these meets focus on gaining experience and improving technique without the pressure of qualifying for higher-level events.
-
Qualifying Meets: These allow swimmers to achieve times needed for entry into major competitions, such as State Age Championships.
-
Interclub Meets: Open to all club members, regardless of age or ability, these fun and social events give swimmers the chance to compete against others of similar pace.
-
Championship Meets: The pinnacle of competition, including Country Championships and State Age Championships (Senior and Junior).
-
External Meets: Organised by other clubs or associations, these provide opportunities for swimmers to compete beyond their home club.
